Meditate on it

Last post, I mentioned  I was in-between studies.  After finishing a four-year chronological journey through the scriptures, I was understandably ready for something fresh, different. The result?  I've decided to undertake Beth Moore's most recent Bible study of 2 Timothy,  Entrusted .  A few confessions... I confess I'm not a WOMEN's  Bible study fan.  There are eight dozen other things that I'd rather do than sit around with a group of women wandering through scripture.  Sorry, but it's true.  Groups of women set me on edge at times. I prefer a few men in the group if I'm going to be in a group. All of one gender feels too artificial for me. Also, sitting around with a group of people--Christian or not, women or men, means that there will be gobs of tangential sharing and rabbit trails. I just finished a one-year chronological Bible reading plan in 4 and 1/2 years.  Going into it, I knew I would be faithful to their sequence but not their pace.  I had planned to take my time with it.  Did I think it would take four years?  Heck no! It was a good 4 and 1/2 years.  It gave me time to linger to my heart's content, though my momentum dragged toward the end.  It's good to have some pull. What next? I like the thought of flexible selection/study tethered by a definite accountability system.  So, I created a Google spreadsheet to keep me constant, though I plan to dip into several sections and plans.  The only rule is to read every day.  Also, I'd like to get back to writing out my reflections more.  Maybe I will have a more modest goal in that regard--still thinking... Today I started a plan over at She Reads Truth.  We'll see how that goes. Here's the link to my reading chart.
